DET 100A LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) sensor is a sensor commonly used to measure the linear displacement of objects, and is often used in the measurement and monitoring of mechanical equipment in power plants.

DET series LVDT Displacement Sensors Function

In power plants, DET 100A LVDT sensors are mainly used to measure the vibration displacement, vibration, thermal expansion and other parameters along the axis of the generator rotor, so as to monitor the working state and performance of the unit in real time. Specifically, the DET 100A LVDT sensor is usually installed on the bearing support structure of the generator. By measuring the small vibration and displacement change of the rotor axis, the operating state and axis deviation of the rotor can be judged, so as to timely adjust and maintain, and ensure the safe and stable operation of the unit.
DET series LVDT displacement sensor can also be used to measure the linear displacement of other power plant equipment, such as the axial vibration of steam turbine rotor, piston displacement of pump, etc. Different measuring equipment has different sensor classification. Common types of displacement sensors used in power plants

There are six types of displacement sensors commonly used in power plants.
LVDT sensor: used to measure the radial displacement, magnetic bearing position and other parameters of the unit rotor.
Resistance displacement sensor: used to measure the axial and radial displacement and other parameters of the turbine rotor.
Magnetostrictive displacement sensor: mainly used to measure displacement, deformation, vibration and other parameters under high temperature and high pressure environment.
Vibration displacement sensor: used to measure the vibration and displacement of the unit.
Piezoelectric displacement sensor: It is mainly used to measure the parameters such as blade vibration and rotor displacement of the unit.
Laser displacement sensor: used to measure the radial and axial displacement and other parameters of the unit rotor.

Application of LVDT Sensors in power plants

The function and classification of DET 100A LVDT sensors (also known as displacement sensors) make LVDT sensors widely used in power plants.
First, it is reflected in the stroke feedback of gas turbine and steam turbine control valves. The control valves of gas turbine and steam turbine need to accurately adjust the valve opening according to the load change or adjustment requirements. At this time, the LVDT sensor is used to measure the LVDT of the control valve, feedback the travel information to the control system, and help the control system automatically adjust the valve opening.
Secondly, it can also be applied to rotary furnace and damper control of coal-fired boiler. Coal-fired boilers need to accurately adjust the oxygen concentration and pulverized coal injection in the furnace to control the combustion process. The travel sensor of the rotary furnace and damper is used to measure and control the opening of the rotary furnace and damper, and feed back the opening information to the control system, so that the control system can automatically adjust the furnace oxygen concentration and pulverized coal injection.
Thirdly, the displacement measurement of generator stator can also be used. The generator stator needs to be kept in good alignment during operation. The travel sensor is used to measure the displacement of the generator stator in order to judge whether alignment adjustment is required.
Finally, DET 100A displacement sensors can also be used for stroke measurement of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. In power plants, pneumatic and hydraulic systems are widely used to control the operation of equipment, such as pneumatic valves, hydraulic cylinders and actuators. The travel sensor can be used to measure the travel of the actuator in the pneumatic and hydraulic systems, so that the control system can adjust the position of the actuator in time.
