Importance of the Suction Filter DZJ for Jacking Oil Pump

During the operation of the steam turbine, the jacking oil pump plays a crucial role. Its main function is to perform forced lubrication before turning the turbine, reducing the power demand of the turning motor by providing jacking force to the rotor. For large units, the rotor is relatively heavy, so a higher power turning motor is required. The inlet filter DZJ plays an indispensable role in this process.

 

The inlet filter element DZJ is a key component of the top shaft oil pump, which mainly filters impurities and particles in the lubricating oil sucked in by the oil pump to protect the normal operation of the jacking oil pump and its downstream equipment. Due to its high viscosity and flash point, EH oil is easily affected by impurities such as dust and metal shavings during use. If these impurities are not filtered out in a timely manner, it may cause serious damage to the oil pump and its downstream equipment.

The design and material selection of the inlet filter element DZJ are crucial for its filtration effect, as the filter element needs to be able to withstand the working pressure of the top shaft oil pump while providing efficient filtration performance to effectively filter impurities in the oil. In addition, the material of the DZJ filter element needs to be compatible with EH oil to prevent chemical reactions such as corrosion or decomposition, which can damage the filter element or affect the quality of the oil.

 

In practical applications, the maintenance of filter DZJ is crucial. The DZJ filter element needs to be replaced regularly to maintain its filtering effect. The frequency of replacing filter DZJ depends on the quality of the oil, operating conditions, and equipment requirements. Usually, the replacement of filter DZJ should be carried out when the color, viscosity, or cleanliness of the oil changes. In addition, the DZJ filter element is equipped with a transmitter. When the oil pump pressure is ≤ 0.03MPa, it indicates that the filter element is blocked and needs to be replaced or cleaned in a timely manner.

In addition to regular replacement and inspection of the DZJ filter element, there are also some other measures to extend its service life and ensure its reliable operation:

  • 1. Control the quality of EH oil: Ensure that the lubricating oil used in the unit meets the specifications and requirements, avoid using inferior oil or mixing different brands or types of oil, which can reduce the risk of filter clogging and extend its service life.
  • 2. Control oil temperature: High temperatures may cause oil oxidation and accelerate the aging of filter DZJ. Therefore, keeping the oil within the appropriate temperature range can extend the service life of the filter element.
  • 3. Regular monitoring: Establish a regular monitoring and inspection mechanism, including monitoring the cleanliness, flow rate, and pressure drop of oil products, in order to timely detect filter element problems and take corresponding measures.

Through these measures, the service life of the DZJ filter element can be maximized and its reliable operation in the steam turbine can be ensured.
